Russ’ dad left for IRAQ on Sunday, which was very sad and hard to say good bye. He actually flies to Virginia for a few days then one of the Carolina’s for more training for a week then off to IRAQ for 6 months. He’s not in the army or military, but had the opportunity (if you can call it that) to be a mechanic over there fixing tankers, Hummers, etc for a pretty hefty pay. We’re all taking it hard and will miss him and are praying for his safe return.
On another note, our kids are growing like weeds. It seems like every day Avah learns new words and phrases. Like, yesterday, she said “Ma, bug in air” as she was pointing in the sky. Who taught her the word “air”? And when did she learn to put so many words together? Benn has mastered sitting up. He and his sister have been interacting a lot more now that he’s sitting and playing with toys. Avah’s next feat is to master the art of sharing. Benn has started eating baby food (well he has been for a while now). He really enjoys fruits, but just about almost refuses to eat any type of vegetable. I seriously have to sneak a bite of peas in after some bananas and follow up quickly with more bananas or else the kid would not get any nutrients from vegetables at all! Once he realizes the trick I’ve played, he starts gagging and tries to spit it out, hence the need for the quick fruit follow up. Here are some updated pictures of the kids. Sorry that it’s been so long.
Benn sitting up. He was just as surprised as we were!

Avah riding her Trike...another birthday present. Thanks Uncle Matt and Aunt Amber!

it's okay Karen, you looked much better in your dress!!
Karen...it's been a long time, but I found your blog through your facebook. You are great writer. I have found it interesting to read. Good luck with the decorating!. I have to tell you. Your daughter Ava looks just like my friends neice named Ava. It's hilarious. She is adorable. I will pray for your father in law and him going to Iraq. I am sure that must be hard on everyone.
