A chance to Breathe

Words cannot express the whirlwind of a week that we’ve had. I get exhausted just thinking about it. The condensed version involves lots of work and little sleep. But all in all it’s been a good week. Starting with Easter. I know this is a little late for an Easter post, but it was a great weekend (last weekend). We went to Nick’s (a friend of Avah’s from daycare – and his mom is one of my best friends) 3rd birthday party on Saturday…it was at Chucke Cheese – very fun place for kids. I haven’t been in years. Avah had fun walking down the Skeeball lane and throwing the ball into the target. Totally cheating, but she was so darn cute that no one stopped her. All the kids enjoyed themselves (as much as I could tell) and they especially loved it when Chucke came out to sing and dance.

From the birthday party, we (my mom and I) went to Easter Vigil mass because my cousin-in-law was getting baptized. Very cool mass. It didn’t seem as long as it was (almost 2 and a half hours!)

Then came Easter and I made sticky buns for breakfast (thanks for the recipe Kathy!) along with an egg casserole and all the fixings (Amber and my mom helped out a ton too). We started the day off right by eating lots of food then headed over to Russ’ mom’s for dinner (more food) and the Easter egg hunt. Avah was pretty excited about the hunt. She was a little slower than the other kids, so Russ helped her out by finding some and putting them on the ground in front of her so she could pick them up and put them in her basket.

This week we haven’t done much, just worked and Russ has been coaching baseball. They haven’t won many games but it’s a young team and he’s a good coach so I’m sure they’ll improve. Tomorrow is supposed to be super nice and Russ had a double header at Concord so I might try to pack the kids up and take them to a game.

I’m taking a vacation day Friday…hoping to do some resting, running, and shopping this weekend. Maybe even get outside and do a little yard work. Who knows, nothing major planned just a quiet weekend at home. We’ll see if it stays like that. :) Happy spring everyone!
