So, I’m trying to be more creative in my blog posting titles and this was the best I could come up with for today. Are you interested?!?
For those of you who aren’t gymnastics judges or involved in the sport the Stick It part of this post simply refers to the fact that I had to judge at Mason last night. Get it? Gymnastics routines, flipping, tumbling, sticking dismounts, etc. Well, if not I’m sure you’ll understand the Stuck part.
Anyways, I was totally bummed about the meet because 3 other judging friends had their meets cancelled and since the weather is bad (and I’m a horrible driver – I think this has been well established and commented on in previous posts!) I absolutely did NOT want to go. None the less, I went and it was SO long. I didn’t get home until 10:30. WTH?! Mason meets are so SLOW! Which means I’m tired this morning since I only got 5 and a half hours of sleep. BUT I do have to say I have an awesome hubby who let me sleep through Benn’s 3am feeding (is he too old to be getting those still at 4 months?) so that gave me an extra half hour. Yeay!
On to the STUCK part…well, ya’ll know its frigid here (I’m racking my brain trying to come up with a better adjective than frigid because I can’t think of anything that truly expressed the severity of the cold today) and bundling up 2 kids under 2 isn’t easy. So, we do our normal a.m. routine, get kids up, change them, brush teeth, comb hair, feed Benn, bundle up then we’re out the door. So, I pull out of the garage (paying extra attention not to take off my mirror by driving into the side of the garage AGAIN) when before I know it, my back passenger tire is off the drive way! Aghhhhh… LOL. Did I slide because of the ice? Nope, just drove off the drive way and got STUCK! LOL. I tried everything I could think of short of getting out and digging my self out of the snow bank, but nothing worked. So, I’m thinking…who could dig me out? I got it! My bro, but unfortunately he had already left for work. So, I take Benn out and bring him inside, then I have to try to get Avah out, but I can’t get to the door because there is snow up to the door handle! So I have to unstrap her and pull her through Benn’s side and over his carseat. Whew. That was a lot of work all before 8am! Next we called Russ and thankfully he was able to leave work and come save us. The best part of the whole morning was when Avah kept asking “Pat?” “Pat?” I had to say “Sorry honey, mommy got stuck so we can’t go to Pat’s now.” Which is a long sentence for a 1 year old to understand, but sure enough as soon as Russ walked in the door she said, “Daddy! Mommy GUCK?” (which means STUCK in baby language). Hilarious! Anyways, we bundled the kids up again and made it safely to Pat’s and work by 9ish.
Hope ya’ll have a good day and don’t get stuck!
