Going to the dentist. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I loathe going to the dentist. Not so much if I just have to go for a cleaning, although I dread those too because no matter how much I brush (2-3 times at least every day), floss and rinse I usually have to have some type of dental work done (filings, crowns, etc). Today was no exception. I’ve been scheduled to have one filing replaced and another new cavity filled for 2 months now and I kept calling to reschedule my appointments because I was in denial, and frankly I had better things to do.
So, today I sucked it up and went. NOW, as a reward, I get to spend the next 4-6 hours with the entire right side of my face numb from just below my eye to my jaw bone. Sorry if the sarcasm isn’t strong enough, but if you can’t tell, I’m basically throwing a pity party for myself. My only reprieve is that I should be unnumbed (is that even a word?) by the time I have to judge tonight at Western. So I’m totally looking forward to that.
Anyways, back to more pleasant things. We had another great weekend. First Russ and I decided to take the kids to the mall to do some serious shopping for poor Benn. We literally needed to cut the feet out of his p.j.’s because the kid’s growing so much. He had very few clothes that fit him and the ones that did were borderline too small (we’d have to hike the kid’s socks up because his legs would stick out of his pants 2 or 3 inches!). So, we hit up Gymboree and found some great deals on p.j.’s and one piece outfits. Super cute and very reasonably priced.
Saturday, I judged all day at Northwest. It was a good meet, plus I got to take Russ’ neice (Ella) home with us for a few hours. Russ and Ella played Nintendo (old school), Yahtzee and we colored. I forgot how therapeutic coloring was. It was a great time. After that we picked up some pizza and coneys and headed to my mom’s for dinner. Not the dinner of champions but I was in no shape to cook.
Sunday we went to church, then I did a little more shopping with a friend, and wrapped up the day by having dinner at my brother’s house. Amber cooked a mean (low fat) Mexican chicken dish! Geeze…I didn’t have to cook one meal all weekend! Yeayyy.
Have a fabulous week everyone!
