Our kids adore their Uncles (and Aunts for that matter). Their uncles love getting them riled up and they get down to their level and play whatever sports or pretend baby dolls the kids want. Avah and Benn love spending time with them and we are so fortunate to have family that lives so close. So, to honor them here's a quick poem...
Uncles love laughter
they tickle and make faces,
They teach us to yell,
to pick our noses and make messes.
Dad just smirks
and watches over proudly,
while mom rolls her eyes
and thanks the unruly.
Uncles teach us how to be tough
and how to get up when we fall down.
They'll play baby dolls for hours
and wrestle on the ground.
Uncles protect us, get us into mischief
and show us all kinds of neat stuff.
They keep on playing with us
even when mom says that's enough.
Uncles are the best
we hope that they know,
That we love them
and we hope it really shows.
Having fun in the sprinkler.
