When asked what he wants for lunch, Benn always answers, "Aghh...Mak-er-OH-nie." (translation - macaroni)
When I pick him up from daycare, he runs to me arms opened wide and says, "Oh, I tubble mommy." Meaning he got in trouble at Pat's house. Nice! He's so darn cute how can I be mad? This is quickly followed by, "I not naughny, mommy"
When playing football with dad, he insists that he "go deet daddy, go deet." (translation - go deep as in run far then I'll throw the ball). When he's told to go deep, he runs as far as he can then turns to catch the ball.
When running the bases (inside the house) and hitting off the tee Benn slides into home plate and declares he is, "SAFE!" But when daddy slides, he says "you out daddy!" Every time, daddy is never safe.
He refers to Avah as "Ah-ba"
He is quick to point out that when he has a full diaper that "Mommy sinky" and "pee yew mommy" (not true, but he thinks is hilarious)
When I'm being silly, dancing around the house, or playing peek-a-boo with him he stops what he's doing, looks at me like I'm nut and says (without being prompted) "mommy, you so silly!" (this is also immediately followed by belly laughs)
He calls basketball (the sport, the ball or anything associated with it) "ba-ball hoop"
Hockey (sticks, pucks, goals, etc) is "hockeyball"
He'll spend hours (literally) hitting baseballs off of a tee with Russ at baseball practice with the big kids.
He insists on wearing his cleats everywhere, including the store, daycare, grandma's and even to bed.
Whenever we do something that he enjoys, a birthday party, playing outside, going to a friends house, as soon as we get in the car, he reflects on the event and says, "my had fun!" followed by a long sigh...
He repeats everything his sister says and they even carry on miniature conversations about kids at daycare, thing they want to play with, and even pretend together.
One of his favorite things to pretend is that there's a "mun-sdr coming!" (translation - monster) See picture below...
He is still my cuddle bug, but has what seems like overnight gained an intense stamina for play. He plays non-stop, mostly sports, but he does enjoy his train track, Hotwheels cars, and Mr. Potato head amongst other things. At night time, he still snuggles with me on the couch and I try to cherish every moment because I know it won't be like this forever. This is Benn's sweetness that I want to bottle up and save.
