Have you noticed how beautiful it’s been lately? In keeping with the Thanksgiving spirit, I have to say that today, I’m most thankful for the abundance of gorgeous weather we’ve been having lately. Can you believe that it’s the middle of November and still hovering around the mid 60’s? The birds were even chirping this morning! Add the time change on top of it, and the days have been so much brighter. Now, I’ll come back down to reality and admit that the days are considerably getting shorter and I know that Darrin (my meteorologist) says it’s going to be low 40’s all next week, but lately, I can’t help but be thankful for the sunny days. I’ve been in a better mood, my kids have been able to play outside and burn some energy, and I’ve been super motivated and productive (for which I’ll attribute to the weather too!).
In other happenings…
Like I said before this IS the holiday season, and not only is it a time to be thankful, but it’s a time for family. I always look forward to this time of year because although we seem busier with the hustle and bustle of the giving season, somehow we always find time to get together with family. Now, I came from a small family and there’s something to be said for small families…close knit and private (not a lot of drama). But, one of the things that fascinated me when I first met my hubby was his huge family. I loved the bond they all shared, all the party like gatherings they had, and mostly the fact that they still shared the close knit bonds that our smaller family had. Russ’ mom has 4 sisters and Russ’ dad has six siblings. There’s always something exciting or new that goes on in a large family like that. In addition to Russ’ family, we are also close with my SIL’s parents. The best part is that our kids have not only all 4 grandparents around all the time, but they have honorary grandparent’s too (Papa Glenn and Grandma Judy)! We are truly blessed to have so many family AND friends too that love our kids like their own.
Although I hate to admit that the weather is turning quickly, I’m ready in full force for the holidays. Hope you are too!
