One of the many things I wanted to do this holiday season was to make all my Christmas tags. I attempted this task last year and had a lot of fun doing it. But last year, I did a lot of embossing and layering. The problem was that after I made the tags, I realized that none of them coordinated with the wrapping paper. Ugh...talk about unacceptable. :) In all seriousness, this really bothered me (as you can tell bc I'm still talking about it).
This year, while browsing random blogs, I came across this one, Eco-Friendly and Green Gift Wrapping Ideas. This is my favorite post to date was the one where she talked about going green during the holidays. If you know me, you know I love doing my part to help out mother Earth. I"ll admit, I'm not into wrapping presents in the "funnies" or using washcloths or blankets to wrap gifts (unless its for a baby/bridal shower), but one of her reduce, reuse, recycle ideas was really genius (simple, but genius). It was to use brown paper bags and fancy them up with bright and colorful ribbon. Love it!!!!!
Not only is this a fab idea, but I thought about my plans to make all of my tags this year and it was the perfect solution! Now I don't have to worry about the tags matching the paper bc everything goes with brown! With this new found freedom, my creative juices started flowing and this is what I came up with.
These really didn't take much time or effort to create. But I like simple things and think they'll work perfect with my brown (or should I say "green") packages.
