I've been looking for a bookshelf to display my new Willow People nativity scene this year. I'd like something with just 2 or 3 shelves in an espresso or walnut finish. The problem is that all of the shorter book shelves that I've found much wider than the space that we have to put it in. Much to my dismay I was feeling defeated last night staring at the tape measure and wishing my wall was just 6 inches wider so that the nice solid wood bookshelf that I'd just fell in love with online (which also had free shipping!) would fit perfectly where I wanted it to and would work nicely for the purpose of displaying the nativity scene. Fortunately, I've got a creative hubby and he suggested that I turn this into a bookshelf...
With a little imagination I thought it might just work. And if not, no harm done because we were going to get rid of the wine rack to make room for the new bookshelf anyways! So, Saturday was demolition day. I hammered, sawed (is that a word?) and used a lot of sand paper.
The following weekend, I painted. And...wahlaaa!
