Looking back at 3

Each year I try to come up with a list of things the kids have learned, accomplished, and mastered. Not to mention some things they said or did that were just downright hilarious that I just have to document so that I don’t forget. So here it goes, here’s my list…

During this past year, Avah has
· Expanded her vocabulary immensely
· She is sensitive, helpful, easily excitable and absorbs everything like a sponge
· She’s always willing to help “clean” the windows
· Her best friends are both named Ella
· She deciphers her grandparents by calling them “Papa with no hair or Papa with glasses” and “Grandma with curly hair or Grandma with straight hair.” What can I say, the girl’s world revolves around hair.
· She thinks popsicles are a main food group
· The girl is obsessed with shoes and boots, hers and mine
· She can write all of her capital letters and most lowercase letters
· She’s interested in road names and where we are going
· She knows all the days of the week except when you ask her what day it is, she always says Friday. I can’t blame her though, that is the best day of the week!
· She prefers white milk over chocolate, but insists on chocolate donuts over glazed
· She is inquisitive, but has finally grown out of asking “why?” all the time
· She talks ALL of the time, poor Benn can’t get a word in edge wise
· She rides her bike (with training wheels) all by herself
· She has mastered the 50 piece puzzle and can do a 100 piece puzzle with a little help from mom or dad
· She has an unnatural fascination with band-aids and thinks she needs them for every freckle on her body because they are “boo boo’s”
· She prefers dresses/skirts over jeans
· She sleeps with her blankie, but believes she’s “too big” to take it to daycare
· She’s a cuddler and will snuggle any time of the day
· She no longer takes naps
· She insists on doing things herself, except when it comes to eating dinner she likes to be fed

Favorites:
Colors - pink and purple (unchanged from last year)
Cartoon - The Bernstein Bears
Toys - her dolls which is nothing new from year 2, but now she pretends with them, puts them down for naps, and lines them up to read to them like a teacher would.
Food - fruit, with the exception of popsicles as mentioned above
Vegetable - celery
Sport – gymnastics
Princess – Snow White
