Dog Gone It!

After work today, I went to Meijer to pick up just a few things for dinner this week then some snacks for our mini road trip this weekend. I got some good snacky stuff that we don't usually get because we like to eat fairly healthy. Things like frosted animal crackers, chocolate chip cookies, goldfish, cheese its, twizzlers, and pretzels.

When I got home I put away some of the refrigerated items, made a couple of pieces of french toast and hurried off to the school to pick Benn up from baseball practice. Well...not actual practice, but Russ has been taking him a couple of nights a week before JV practice starts so Benn can hit. If you aren't already aware, Benn loves baseball and would play the sport 24-7 if we had enough energy to keep pitching to him.

When we returned, I found the floor covered in red bits of sticky, slobbery candy pieces, pretzels crunched, and completely empty bags of chocolate chip cookies, animal crackers and goldfish. Really?!?!?!! Dakota had eaten thru most of our snacks that I had left on the barstool.

Seriously!!!!

Ugh...I'm so mad. Not only because I have to clean up the nasty drooly mess and the eminent pile of puke that is sure to come sometime later tonight or tomorrow, but because I just spend over $100 at Meijer thinking I wouldn't have to make another trip to the store before we leave. And now, because of my ridiculous dog, I have to go back to the grocery store sometime between now and Friday to spend another $30 on snacks that the dog just consumed.

Now the dog is outside. I wish she could stay out all night, but she barks whenever the neighbors are out (which they are) so I reluctantly have to let her in now. Nice night eh?

All we have left is a box of cheese its. And I've got to tell you that I'm not convinced those weren't next on Dakota's list.

OMG! I can fully understand! Its like when I buy stuff at the store with a menu in mind, go to fridge to make that meal I've been craving, only to find out that my husband ate half the ingrediants to make it! Ugh... the worst feeling knowing you have to go re-buy something you just bought! Lol
