Keeping my Head Up

Its been a tough week for me. My grandma who's been in a nursing home for almost 10 years with alzheimers had a stroke last Sunday. Hospice came and we had Father Bob come so my grandma could receive the sacrament of the sick. Its SO hard losing someone. I was so close to my grandma before this disease. Thursday, my mom called me early in the morning. I knew, but still needed to hear her say it. She passed away early that morning.

I really can't think of much to say nor can I describe how crappy I feel. Death is a big deal. Its scary and incredibly sad for those left behind. But I have to say I've been unbelievably lucky having lots of support from family and friends. It was great seeing my cousin from Florida and my new niece Livy. Also, my aunt and uncle came from Alabama. My mom and I have spend a lot of time together. We see each other at least once a week and talk every other day, but this I think brought us even closer. It was nice to be the one she depended on. So, I'm taking one day at a time and have a slightly different/more appreciative outlook on life.
