It's not summer officially, but it sure does feel like it. The weather this week has been FAB-ulous! Summer Saturday's are the BEST because we seem to get so much done and we have a great time being together outside playing. Today for instance, we all woke up to the sun shining and the birds chirping I should mention that it was an early 7am, but there was absolutely no talking myself into sleeping in on a day like today. Just imagine what we could accomplish today and the fun we could dream up of doing on such a gorgeous day!
So, like I said, our day began at an early 7am. Russ didn't have to be to the field until 9am so that meant I could go for a quick run. That quick run actually turned into a 35 minute - 4 mile run and it felt great.
When I got back the kids were running around playing outside in the bounce house and Russ and I raked and planted grass seed in the back yard. The kids have been begging relentlessly for weeks to go swimming and to go on a picnic. So while the pool is filling with water in the backyard being warmed by the morning sun, I'm trying to discretely plan a picnic lunch for the kiddies.
Also on the agenda this morning was one of my least favorite tasks: washing car seats. I haven't the slightest idea how they get so grimy and gross, but they do. Anyways, today I bit the bullet, pulled all of our car seats out, fought with them to get every elastic strap unhooked, pealed off the cheerio crusted, sticky cushions, wiped down the plastic (including multiple cup holders - are so many REALLY necessary?) and washed the cushions. Whew! I'm tired just writing this.
Now I sit basking in the sounds and smells of what my senses are telling me is summer. It's now just 10am - looking forward to a wonderful summer Saturday.
