I'm in a slump....kind of like writers block, but in relation to blogging. I think its because I haven't been taking as many pictures. Pictures say things so much better than I can express in words. Doesn't everyone prefer reading books with pictures than just a bunch of words? Anyway, the weather is starting to turn and we've just been ridiculously busy. I think things are beginning to slow down as far as weekends go, which is encouraging.
Because they're on my mind, I thought I'd share some funny things the kids have done lately...
- Benn puts his hands on his head to resemble antlers and says, "Mom! My a deer!" Its so cute. Thanks to our daycare provider Pat for informing us of this new talent of his (animal impressions).
- Avah randomly and surprisingly at times will stop everything she's doing and say, "Mom...I love you." (melt my heart!)
- Benn plays baseball nonstop. When we reject his request to join him in a game of BB, he simply and innocently asks, "Well...you play foofall (football) with me then?" What AM I going to do when we can't go outside to play baseball or football during the winter?
- The only thing Benn wants to eat are hot dogs (gross!) because he says, "Well...that's what beeball (baseball) players eat mom!" They must be good for you then, obviously.
- Avah's becoming more independent every day. Albeit, still shy and a little clingy, but recently has been insisting on making decisions like what to wear, what she wants for dinner and what cartoons to watch. I'm adjusting...
- I love Avah's desire to learn. She begs to work in her workbook at night before bed. So, we do 4 or 5 pages of letters, counting, matching or patterns. Its so great to see her enthusiasm to learn.
- Avah has started gymnastics for the season. She absolutely loves going and asks all week when its going to be Monday so that she can go to gymnastics. She's got her cartwheel down and her favorite event besides trampoline (because everyone's favorite is the tramp) is bars.
How's that for writer's block? :)
