Last Wednesday, I was lucky enough to take the day off work since our daycare was closed. I say lucky because its rare this time of year for us to take much time off because we are so busy at work. And for that I was thankful.
Instead of making a laundry list of things to accomplish on my day off, I decided to do something that the kids would enjoy. Turns out, I had a great time too! We made a trip to the Treehouse and surprised my SIL for lunch (since she works in Chelsea). The kids were so well behaved, played and helped each other up the equipment and all in all, just had a fun time. Avah made a friend and they had fun running around together and Benn kept trying to sneak and throw the balls from the "baby" area into the big kid area which kept me busy.
Lunch was also fun. We ate (well, Amber and I ate - the kids refused to eat anything except a chocolate chip cookie) at a quaint coffee shop then after a couple hours in Chelsea, we made the trip back to Jackson. I did end up getting some errands done after which made me feel accomplished for the day.
What I love most about that day was the time I got to spend with my babes. Time that I otherwise wouldn't have had, had our daycare not been closed and had I not been fortunate enough to be able to take the day off that wonderful Wednesday.
Benn (aka Linus from Charlie Brown) being silly
