Well, this is our little man one week old. Its so nice to be home and away from the beeping and many other screaming babies at the hospital. Unfortunately Russ had to go back to work this week, but my mom took the week off to stay with me and help out. Russ' mom has been helping a lot with Avah too, picking her up from daycare and coming over for visits, dinner or what ever we need. Thank heaven for GRANDMA's!
As for me and the baby, we are doing well. Although, I realized today that I think I may be pushing recovery a little too fast. The lack of sleep at night coupled with trying to stay up on laundry, dishes, and a running after an 18 month old are taking a toll. So, I've decided I'm going to TRY to take it easier. Doctor's orders.
Benn has been an angel during the day. Eating well and seems to be content the majority of the time. We play...ok, mostly just I play and he watches me like I'm crazy and wrinkles his little forehead (so cute). At night, he's your average newborn. Up every 2 hours, hungry and wet. While I love feeding him (nursing is going really well), its the burping, changing and trying to get him to settle back down that seems like work. And since its so often right now, I almost dread night times. For some reason the days don't seem as bad...not sure why, maybe its the sun that makes everything better. I just have to keep reminding myself that he's not even 2 weeks old yet and things will get better.
I'll leave you with the last pic of Benn's feet. I know, I know, I'm a proud parent and can't resist cute adorable feet. They're so tiny and perfect I had to share. I wonder where these feet will take him, the places he'll see, and things he'll do? But for right now I just want to remember how tiny and perfect they are.
