A Bedtime Story

We've had a fun night tonight. Playing, rough housing, pillow fights, tag and more! The kids were belly laughing for probably an hour straight (right before bed time). We finally got Bennett corralled and down for the count, but Avah wasn't as willing to give in. She started in with demanding we get her toothbrush for her, insisting she wear her Dora jammies (which I wasn't even sure were dry), and saying "No" to every patient request we made for her to get to bed. Here's how our conversations went...

Avah: "Mommy, I'm Dora" (when she wears her Dora p.j.'s she think's she's Dora)

Me: OK, Dora

Avah: "I'm not Dora" (laughing hysterically)

Me: Dora, time for bed

Avah: "I'm NOT Dora" (more laughing)

This continues for 10 minutes or more

Me: Avah, time for bed sweetheart

Avah: "No"

Me: I'm going to start saying No to you. That's not nice, please don't say No.

Avah: "Get me a drink"

Me: N-O. No

Unsure silence from Avah, followed by giggles

Avah: "Mommy, can my have a drink?"

Me: No

Avah: (more giggles) Please mom?

Me: No

Avah: "Mommy, pllllleaasseeeee?"

Me: No

Avah: (hyena laughing, then a long pause) You're just joking right mom?!

I'm still laughing! Have a great day.
